Skjend Hans Gotisk by enframed Skjend Hans Gotisk by enframed
This old gothic font was traced from an old book some years ago, and I have made som minor changes to it now.
All letters are lowercase, but I have assigned them to uppercase as well.

Freeware! Use this for whatever graphical purpose you like!

I thought this was a typeface I know but on second glance I see the differences. The /c seems to be lower than the other letters and the ascenders of /b and /l are not as high as in /h and /k. The typeface is a bit inconsistent but in general this is excellent work. I think you should finish it.

very nice, but it doesn't have "j", "z" and big letters, "q" looks like "o", and "u" like "v", which makes it not so useful after all

What do I do after I download it? Like, how do I load it into a program, like Adobe Photoshop or MS Word?

I can't seem to figure it out.

Ah, just put it in the c:\windows\fonts folder. Then restart Photoshop or Word, and you'll be able to use it.

"skjend hans" doesn't not mean "humiliate the"? i mean, i know that carpathian forest song, "skjend hans lik", and they say it means "humiliate the corpse"? so how does humiliation relates with this font?

It was just CF homage. Perhaps a bit meaningless place, but.. ;)

Anyway, "skjending" is not just humiliating, it can also refer to blasphemy and desecrating.

This is cool. Sucks there isnt a CAPS version :(

How does one go about creating a font? I'm curious to give it a try...

I used the program Fontlab which is actually quite easy to use. You just import graphics which is automatically traced. Then you adjust the size of the letters and space between them.
Then, you give each letter a name, and assign them to correct keys under "properties" of each letter.
Lastly, give the font a name and information under naming.

I suggest you start by making a font with your own handwriting. ;)
Btw. it's a good thing to open a professional font to see how it works.

"I suggest you start by making a font with your own handwriting."

I think I might use a friend's handwriting, mine is horrible.

Do you know where I can get fontlab? Preferably free.
